Salary: $81,974 - $97,482 per annum (pro rata) + 12% super

Key responsibilities include:
The Disability Inclusion Officer leads the City of Fremantle's efforts to create a more accessible and inclusive community through the strategic implementation of disability access and inclusion initiatives. Serving as the primary liaison between the City and the community, the role ensures that people with disability and diverse communities can effectively communicate their views, interests, and needs. The officer drives organisational change by embedding inclusive principles into policies, programs, infrastructure, and communications through collaboration, advocacy, and capacity building. The role also leads the implementation, monitoring, and review of the Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) 2021–2025 and coordinates the development of DAIP 2026–2031.
This position reports to the Community Development Team Leader and will be expected to bring creativity and flexibility, along with the following attributes.
• Tertiary qualification and/or demonstrated equivalent professional experience in a relevant field such as community development, social sciences, disability services, occupational therapy or related discipline.
• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures impacting on the delivery of services to people with disabilities.
• Proven knowledge and experience with Disability Access and Inclusion Plans, including their development, management, implementation and evaluation.
• Extensive knowledge and experience within, the disability sector including current access and inclusion policy and practice relating to accessible premises, services, events and information.
• Demonstrated experience in implementing strategies for inclusion and community participation for people with disabilities.
• Highly developed verbal and written communications skills across a broad range of mediums, and the ability to undertake consultations, collaborations and work effectively in team environments.
• Strong project management capabilities with highly developed time management and organisational skills.
• Current Police clearance.
