About the position
This newly created part-time role (0.75 FTE / 57 hours per fortnight) offers a unique opportunity to shape inclusive and impactful programming across the City’s libraries and community centres. Guided by the City’s Strategic Community Plan, the role involves planning and designing a diverse range of programs, workshops and events. The role plays a key part in coordinating program schedules, fostering strong stakeholder partnerships, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality experience across multiple community sites.
You’ll evaluate program outcomes to ensure they meet community needs and drive continuous improvement. The role also includes researching best practices, seeking grant funding, and working with marketing to promote programs effectively. As a flexible, cross-functional role, experience in libraries or community centres is highly regarded and supports work across multiple service areas.
About the person
The ideal candidate is passionate about creating engaging, community-focused programs and has experience in developing and evaluating programs that respond to diverse community needs. You bring a strong understanding of trends in library and community services, and work well in collaborative, team-based environments. You communicate clearly, build strong stakeholder relationships, and demonstrate adaptability, inclusiveness, and a commitment to delivering high-quality programs that make a meaningful community impact.
Essential qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent professional experience (minimum two years)
- Working with Children Check
- Current driver’s licence
Desirable
- Eligibility for Professional Associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA)
