A fantastic opportunity has opened to join a growing, client-focused public practice accounting firm as a Business Services and Tax Manager. This is a hands-on leadership role, managing a small team and taking ownership of high-level tax and accounting advisory work for a diverse client base.

About the Role:

Working closely with the Director, you will manage both clients and employees, overseeing workflow, ensuring billing and productivity targets are met, and providing technical support to your team. This is an ideal position for a self-motivated, organised individual who thrives in a collaborative, professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and monitor workflow, productivity and billing targets for a team
• Review Trial Balances, Financial Statements, and Tax Returns
• Resolve technical queries from staff and assist with software-related issues
• Liaise directly with clients to finalise financial statements and tax returns, and resolve outstanding queries
• Conduct client meetings for tax return preparation and financial statement reviews
• Prepare tax advice, including legislative research
• Lodgement of Taxable Payments Annual Reports
• Weekly reporting on productivity and recoverability

About You:

• Strong background in public practice accounting and tax advisory
• Previous team management or workflow oversight experience
• Excellent technical knowledge in Australian tax compliance and advisory
• Strong communication skills and a client-first attitude
• Highly organised with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Comfortable working in a close-knit team and aligned with values of integrity, respect, reliability, and excellence
