Registered Psychologist - Assessments and Psychotherapy
Nexia Health Care Pty Ltd
Posted 4 days ago
Overview
Nexia Health Care is transforming mental health care for children and adolescents by offering an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to diagnosing and treating neurodevelopmental disorders. Our model brings together paediatricians, psychiatrists, and allied health professionals to provide comprehensive, collaborative care for young clients and their families.
We are seeking a passionate Registered Psychologist to join our East Melbourne clinic. This role is unique compared to many private practices, as clinical governance is held within our specialist team, curated with pediatricians and psychiatrists. You will not be responsible for clinical governance, which allows you to focus on a versatile and dynamic role where client care and professional collaboration are at the forefront.
In addition to our neurodevelopment and mental health assessments, you will work collaboratively within our Allied Health programs - assessing, treatment planning, providing psychoeducation and delivering therapy to children and young adults seeking therapeutic supports through early intervention plans and capacity building supports.
About the Role
As a Registered Psychologist at Nexia Health Care, you will:
Neurodevelopmental Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments for ASD, ADHD, and SLD, using standardised diagnostic tools and psychometric instruments. You will manage a maximum of two ASD assessments or five ADHD/SLD assessments per day, ensuring the highest quality care.
Diagnostic Formulation and Reporting: Formulate diagnostic impressions based on your assessments and deliver high-quality reports. Strict timelines apply: two weeks for ASD assessments and one week for ADHD/SLD assessments.
Delivery of Psychotherapy: Following the assessment process, deliver tailored therapeutic services to equip your clients to thrive post-diagnosis (if criteria is met).
Evidence-Based Interventions: Design and implement tailored intervention plans, including psychoeducation, behavioural strategies, and family support.
Collaboration and Coordination: Work collaboratively with our specialist team to ensure holistic care. Participate in case conferences and team meetings to discuss progress and outcomes.
Family Support: Offer guidance and education to families, helping them understand the diagnosis and navigate therapeutic options.
Continuous Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in neurodevelopmental disorders, while also sharing knowledge within the team and participating in professional development.
Compliance and Ethics: Maintain high standards of ethical practice, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and professional guidelines.
