Drive strategic asset transformation across a unique portfolio of civil infrastructure, fleet, and facilities for a state of the art public entity. Located in Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs, they're seeking a Manager of Assets to lead and uplift its asset function. This newly created role is critical to a future-focused operating model that places a strong emphasis on accountability, lifecycle strategy, and procurement governance.
With 11 sites throughout Victoria, the organisation is undertaking an exciting program of change, and this is your opportunity to shape how assets are managed for the next decade and beyond.
This role calls for a strategic asset leader with strong documentation and business case development skills. Ideally, you'll have experience working in government, utilities, or similarly complex asset environments, and be confident managing a diverse portfolio across the full lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of a comprehensive Asset Management Strategy across civil, buildings, fleet, and machinery.
• Prepare and present detailed business cases, lifecycle plans and capital investment proposals, directly influencing long-term planning and procurement.
• Oversee the implementation of asset tracking, reconciliation, ownership models and accountability frameworks across all sites.
• Ensure robust compliance with the Asset Management Accountability Framework (AMAF) and related legislative standards.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, field teams and senior leadership to ensure assets are fit for purpose, reliable, and cost-effective.
• Lead end-to-end procurement and disposal of fleet and equipment - including engagement with engineers and suppliers for custom-built solutions.
• Work alongside the Fleet Maintenance Coordinator to evaluate performance, uplift systems and ensure clarity of reporting.
• Champion best practice in maintenance planning, strategic asset lifecycle management, and project documentation.

Key Criteria:

• Strong background in asset management, procurement, and capital works planning
• Demonstrated experience preparing business cases and influencing senior decision-makers
• Sound understanding of asset management systems and compliance (especially AMAF)
• Capability in managing a wide variety of assets - including fleet, civil infrastructure, and buildings
• Stakeholder engagement experience across multiple disciplines - from engineers to executive leadership
• Proficiency in maintenance management software and data-driven reporting tools
• Qualifications in engineering, asset management, or project management highly regarded
