Senior Risk Manager – Asset Management
Location: Sydney/Melbourne | Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Remuneration: Circa $210K pacakge plus bonus

Our client, a prominent financial institution with a leading presence in the Asset Management sector, has engaged our firm to appoint a Senior Risk Manager within their high-performing Risk Management Division. This is a rare opportunity to play a critical role in supporting the strategic direction of a complex and evolving business, while providing independent and trusted risk oversight.

The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the General Manager of Risk, the Senior Risk Manager will act as a key line of defence, providing expert risk advisory, review and challenge across the Asset Management business. With a sharp focus on operational and investment risk, this individual will help guide the business through transformation, ensuring regulatory obligations are met while fostering a robust risk culture.
You will influence decision-making at the most senior levels, supporting business planning, policy development and regulatory engagement. This role requires a seasoned risk professional who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments and is energised by partnering closely with stakeholders to deliver practical, risk-informed outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver expert Line 2 risk advice aligned to established enterprise-wide frameworks.
• Partner with key stakeholders across Asset Management, ESG and Finance to ensure robust risk oversight.
• Review and contribute to responsible entity business plans, policies, and board reporting processes.
• Engage in incident and breach forums, contributing to regulator reportability assessments.
• Build strong, trusted relationships across business units and within the risk function.
• Influence behavioural and mindset change through effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Drive a culture of proactive risk management and compliance integrity.

What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a strategic and pragmatic senior risk professional with the following experience and attributes:

• Minimum 8 years’ experience in financial product or risk-related roles.
• Strong knowledge of investment and operational risk within the Asset Management industry.
• Demonstrated experience operating in organisations undergoing transformation.
• Proven ability to navigate complexity, apply sound judgment and influence outcomes.
• Excellent analytical, communication and report writing skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a track record of fostering trusted, constructive relationships.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Law, Finance or a related discipline.
