Our state government client is looking for a VPS5 procurement advisor for a 6-month fixed-term arrangement.
Your new company
The state government division brings together corporate functions to enable the organisation to deliver on its regulatory functions. The division partners across the organisation to provide integrated strategic, advisory, and operational services in areas such as communications and media, digital and data, operational budget and financial management, procurement and contract management, property, fleet and asset management, and security of payment.
Your new role
- Collaborate with the Head of Procurement to implement Victorian Government Procurement Board (VGPB) policies and tools, enhancing procurement capabilities.
- Be a subject-matter expert in identifying routes to market, competitive procurement, and contract management for expenditure.
- Provide end-to-end services to business units, ensuring commercially appropriate and compliant delivery of procurement objectives.
- Establish a centrally consultative procurement framework.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Build relationships with staff at all levels of seniority.
What you'll need to succeed
- Strong knowledge and experience in contract management and procurement within the public and/or private sectors.
- Understanding of procurement service models and tools/resources required to support a centrally led consultative model.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks, negotiate and meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to think strategically and develop strategic responses and plans within a policy or regulatory framework.
- Strong professional ethics, sound judgment, and discretion in sensitive matters.
- Proactive identification of opportunities for workplace innovation and continuous improvement.
- Collaborative team player with a can-do attitude.
