We are working with one of Victoria's most well known organisations in the essential services sector.

An opportunity has arisen for a Health and Safety Advisor to join a community focused organisation in the SE suburbs. Offering fantastic flexible work arrangements, the successful candidate will be joining a dedicated Health and Safety Team committed to delivering fit-for-purpose health and safety initiatives ensuring that safety remains a top priority across the organisation.

About the Opportunity

Build and maintain effective relationships within your client group comprising both office and field based staff.

Develop risk mitigation plans to manage health and safety around high-risk activities such as Confined Space Entry, Hazardous Chemicals and Substances, Electrical, Trenching and Excavation, and Traffic Management.

Evaluate incident notifications and support the undertaking of investigations to establish root causes with Supervisors and Managers, as well as identifying preventative and corrective actions.

Provide timely advice and technical support to support operational activities and inform best practice solutions in line with Legislation, Standards, Codes of Practice and organisational policies and procedures.

Assist in the design and delivery of safety training programs which up-skill staff and managers with safety knowledge, risk assessment and hazard management.

Support the design, development and implementation of projects and activities focused on holistic wellbeing and enhancing safety culture.

Advise and support health and safety committees and representatives for a specific portfolio - high risk safety.

Skills and Experience
To be considered for this role, you will have the following:

Certificate IV (minimum) or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.

Solid experience in a relevant health and safety role where you have influenced frontline managers.

Demonstrated application of health and safety legislation, standards, and codes of practice in operational settings and areas such as manual tasks/client handling, ergonomics, psychosocial risk management, contractor management, hazardous substances, etc,

Experience operating in a high risk safety environment.
