Our client is seeking an energetic & dynamic, hands-on Chef Manager to lead our teams at one of Melbourne’s Inner Eastern prestigious schools, along with experience in events of all styles and guest numbers.

We are looking for a chef manager with flair and creativity, a passion for fantastic food and a willingness to work in a positive team environment with a supportive client.

Reporting directly to the off-site Operations Manager, you will be responsible for day-to-day running and supervision of the kitchen, including functions and retail. You will be multi-skilled with the ability to lead your team.

The Role:

Managing functions, events and boarding for the students.

Ensure an efficient, professional and profitable operation with a high-quality presentation of product.

Maximising team motivation and development.

Analyse all food cost of goods, product and service concepts, operational efficiencies, and team performance.

Accountable for the overall food operation and food safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

People Management - hands-on leadership of a well-established team, with the day-to-day management of the kitchen and FOH team members.

Operational Standards - monitoring cleaning rosters, maintaining food service standards, working with procurement to use preferred supplies etc.

Development of menus for homemade food.

Maintaining a good working relationship with staff and students.

Adhering to WHS and Wellbeing - ensuring best practice and managing incidents, reporting and repairs.

Experience:

Experience in a school environment is essential.

Need a current, valid Working With Children's Check

Must be comfortable interacting and engaging with students daily and proactively.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday 6am to 3pm

However, flexibility is essential as you may be required to work functions outside of hours from time to time.

Salary: $85k plus super
