Sunnysights Independent Living are leaders in professional in-home support services for NDIS participants with complex needs. Our talented and dedicated team deliver exceptional care through patience, respect and understanding, tailored to our participants’ interests and needs.

Due to the high demand for our services, we now seek to add Disability Support Workers (Behaviour Support) to our team in LISMORE - Northern Rivers.

What you’ll do

Prior training and accreditation in behaviour supports, Maybo or Crisis Prevention Institute training is highly regarded.

Support a Male NDIS Participant. This involves assisting with prompting and helping them make healthy and informed decisions.

Provide support services based on their Positive Behaviour Support Plan (PBSP), their wishes, and level of independence within established parameters

Support participants in daily living and assist in the provision of food preparation, eating, dressing, maintenance of personal hygiene, and general household chores

Assist participants in attending appointments, and recreational activities and accessing and utilising community resources

Maintain interpersonal communications with participants and their families and provide tailored advisory, social and emotional support.

Ensure prescribed medication and well-being care are provided to participants, in accordance with program guidelines.

What you’ll bring

Experience working with participants who have complex disabilities and behaviours - Via their Positive Behaviour Support Plans.

Have experience working within the NDIS.

Have a calm and compassionate character.

Driver’s License and own vehicle with Comprehensive Insurance

NDIS Worker Screening Card

Current Police check/certificate

Working with Children blue card

Exceptional personal presentation, communication and time management attributes.

This is no ordinary position and you’re no ordinary person. You’ll be comfortable working with people with complex behaviours who need significant supervision, care and guidance. You excel at maintaining a safe residential environment and are competent in ensuring participant well-being and social support is always maintained. You’ll be a high achiever: strong yet warm, highly organised but with creativity to quickly formulate Plan B when things change…with the emotional intelligence to sensitively interact with participants and their family members.
