DFP Recruitment is a preferred supplier of choice to Federal Government departments and agencies. I am partnered with a large Federal Government Agency to recruit APS6 Project Officers working within Campbelltown and Newcastle.

Role Overview:
Reporting to the Assistant Director, the APS6 Project Officer will lead and support projects across the agency. The role requires a proactive, highly organised individual with strong project management skills, stakeholder engagement experience and a passion for delivering meaningful change

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and manage project plans and schedules in line with the Agency’s framework.
  • Provide specialist advice and technical expertise to staff and stakeholders.
  • Conduct independent research and prepare draft reports on project activities.
  • Coordinate regular project reporting, including status updates and exception reports.
  • Prepare draft written materials, including business cases, plans, executive briefs, and corporate documents.
  • Monitor project budgets, review expenditure, and assist with procurement and contract management.
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, and benefits.
  • Contribute to project quality management to ensure deliverables meet client needs.

To be successful in this role you will be able to:

  • Apply project management methodologies to plan, monitor and deliver work packages
  • Work with minimal supervision as an effective member of a team, using a high level of initiative to manage competing priorities.
  • Have experience initiating, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Communicate complex information clearly and concisely through written briefs, reporting and presentations
  • Apply judgement to resolve issues and make evidence informed decision
  • Have experience in managing end-to-end projects within government or community services, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, including with community, government, and service providers.
  • Demonstrated understanding of engagement principles, or consultation processes, and be familiar with project management tools and reporting systems.
