About the role
This part-time teaching focused position (0.2 FTE) will contribute to the delivery of undergraduate teaching in the disciplines of Exercise and Sports Science and Clinical Exercise Physiology. The successful candidate will work closely with the academic team to support unit coordination, assessment, and student engagement across coursework unit, including those with a strong Work Integrated Learning (WIL) component.
The role involves delivering high-quality, evidence-informed content aligned with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) accreditation standards. Responsibilities may include facilitating tutorials and practical classes, supervising students in simulated or real-world placement settings, and contributing to curriculum design and review.
The appointee will be expected to engage with students online and oncampus during intensives, support the development of professional competencies, and uphold the academic standards and integrity of the program. A background in clinical settings is highly desirable.
This position is ideally suited to an early-career academic or practitioner seeking to build their teaching profile in a supportive, collaborative environment committed to regional health outcomes and workforce development.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A degree in Exercise and Sports Science or Clinical Exercise Physiology and be accredited (or eligible for accreditation) with ESSA as an Exercise Scientist or Accredited Exercise Physiologist. You will have experience teaching at the tertiary level, particularly in units focused on practical skills, exercise prescription, and clinical populations. A solid understanding of Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and prior involvement in supervising students in applied or clinical settings is essential. Strong communication skills, a commitment to student-centred learning and academic integrity, and the ability to work collaboratively within a teaching team are also key to success in this role.
