Powering Australia is on a mission to help Australian clean-tech manufacturers scale their businesses and compete on the world stage.
We are funded by the Federal Government under the Industry Growth Centre model and our work spans clean-tech manufacturing including: batteries, solar, wind, carbon, industrial decarbonisation, First Nations, transport, transmission and distribution.
THE ROLE
Are you looking to take the next steps as an Engineering leader?
Powering Australia is building Australia’s future battery capabilities. We need a Lead Engineer, reporting directly to the COO to lead a team of three to five analysts covering battery supply chains, local content, ESG and battery technologies.
You will personally lead our work on Battery Standards. Together with an industry working group you will develop a technical program and oversee its delivery to help move Australia’s battery industry forward and improve safety, enable new technologies, and trade.
You will also lead the technical program at our annual conference, by forming a technical committee, developing a speaker program, and securing the interest of knowledgeable speakers.
Ideally, you will be a thought leader who has the technical knowledge, leadership and ambition to move Australia forward.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Collaborate with regulators and industry to develop a roadmap to improve Australia’s standards and best practices. Oversee the technical program delivering that work.
· Lead our analyst team to map Australia's critical minerals and battery supply chain.
· Form and work with a technical committee to develop a speaker program for our Annual conference.
· Manage the associated budgets and expenditures.
· Report progress to milestones.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
· Bachelors or Masters’ qualification in a relevant Engineering or Science discipline.
· 5-10 years’ experience, either post-doctoral or in industry.
· Demonstrated ability to work with multiple, diverse stakeholders.
· Demonstrated ability to manage projects, budgets in technically complex topic areas.
· Strong understanding of standards development practices and processes.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and reporting.
