Oakwood School, in partnership with headspace Dandenong, is excited to offer a unique opportunity for an experienced Senior Mental Health Clinician to join our team at the Caulfield campus. This role involves providing vital clinical support within a dynamic school environment, delivering evidence-based interventions to young people experiencing a range of mental health and psychosocial challenges. With a strong, established partnership between headspace Dandenong and Oakwood School, we are seeking a passionate and skilled clinician committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of students.
This role is primarily based at Caulfield during school term and only at headspace Dandenong during the term break.
Your Role, Your Impact
As a Senior Mental Health Clinician, you will play a vital role in supporting student wellbeing at Oakwood School by providing professional consultation to teaching staff to enhance student engagement. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments including HEADSS, Mental State Examinations, and risk assessments to determine the needs and suitability of young people for headspace services. This role involves delivering short to medium term evidence based interventions, coordinating care with internal and external stakeholders, engaging families and carers in treatment planning, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation. You will also contribute actively to the campus wellbeing team, attend relevant meetings, and present case formulations in clinical review and supervision sessions.

Who We’re Looking For
Our ideal candidate will have the following:
· Minimum Tertiary Qualification in a relevant field (Psychology, Social Work, Counselling)
· AHPRA registered, ACA, PACFA, AASW or eligible for membership with the association in your field
· Current state-based driver’s license
· Strong therapeutic counselling skills and ability to assess and respond to clinical risks
· Proven experience in developing collaborative and comprehensive care plans
· Effective communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills, particularly with young people
· Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders (e.g. GPs, schools, government agencies)
· High level of computer literacy, including MS Office and electronic medical records systems
