Position: Media Advisor (PR)

Location: Logan

Employment Type: Mon – Fri until August 2025 with possibility of extension

Payrate: $55/hr - $58/hr + super

Maxima is currently seeking various highly motivated individuals as a PR Advisor for one of our government clients.

As a Media/PR Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering effective media and communication strategies to elevate the profile of Our Client. Reporting to the Media Manager, you will be responsible for crafting compelling media content, providing strategic advice and proactively managing emerging media issues in a dynamic political landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement impactful media and communications strategies.
• Identify proactive media opportunities and prepare timely responses to issues.
• Provide strategic advice to Councillors, executives and internal teams.
• Write high-quality media releases, speeches and digital content.
• Liaise with local and state media representatives and maintain media networks.
• Monitor media coverage and guide Client’s response on key issues.
• Contribute to internal communications and staff engagement initiatives.

What We’re Looking For:

• Degree-qualified in Journalism, Public Relations, or Communication, or possess extensive media experience.
• Proven ability to work in a politically sensitive environment.
• Exceptional writing and editorial skills across traditional and digital media.
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.
• Skilled in media relations, social media, and campaign strategy.
• Calm under pressure and able to juggle multiple priorities.
