About the role:
The Regional Coordinator - Municipal Services is responsible for supporting the effective delivery of Municipal Services across communities in the region. This includes providing advice, support, and training to the Municipal Services team, assisting Council Services Managers in Municipal Services delivery, and liaising with the Waste and Environment, and Building and Infrastructure teams to ensure quality service delivery in alignment with East Arnhem Regional Council strategic and regional plans, policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:
Trade or tertiary qualification in a related discipline (i.e. Environmental Management, Mechanic, Horticulture, Road Plant & Machinery Operation, Training), or substantive industry experience.
Effective critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills, complemented by strong interpersonal skills, including high level written and oral communication skills.
Previous experience in facilitation, mediation, negotiation, and management, with a proven track record of effectively leading diverse teams and mentoring staff at all levels in a dynamic and cross-cultural environment.
Persuasive communication skills with the ability to develop collaborative partnerships, provide accurate and timely professional reports on services and activities and develop operational plans and guidelines.
High level office administration skills, including the use of Microsoft Office software (particularly Word, Excel and Outlook) and an ability to learn new software.
DDemonstrated experience in maintaining a safe working environment and to ensure that all Workplace, Health and Safety regulations are adhered to.
Practical experience in road construction, parks and garden maintenance, and/or other civil works.
Willingness to travel to and stay overnight in remote communities on a regular basis.
Must hold a current C Class Drivers Licence with ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
Must hold Heavy Rigid (HR), Backhoe and Skid Steer Loader license, or the ability to obtain.
It would be desirable if you also possessed:
Previous experience living and/or working in remote Australian First Nations’ communities.
Demonstrated high level of cross-cultural awareness to ensure effective participation in a multi-cultural workplace.
Awareness of issues affecting First Nations People in Australia.
All employment with EARC is subject to the successful completion of a Criminal History Check and the ability to obtain a Working with Children Clearance. Criminal history will not exclude an applicant unless it is relevant to the position.
The preferred applicant must be prepared to travel and work for short periods in remote communities by various means, including 4WD vehicle and light aircraft.

What you'll get in return:
Full Time Permanent employment.
Level 8 - Salary $108,274 - $114,868 (excluding superannuation contributions and locality allowance) with annual wage increase opportunities built into our EBA.
You will also benefit from 6 weeks of Annual Leave, with 17.5% leave loading.
