Summary: As our Procurement Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the hardwood timber strategy for our Company. You’ll be responsible for sourcing, supplier relations, contract management, and market development—with a focus on procurement from Africa, South America and the Pacific Region.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to forecast timber needs based on market demand

Oversee all procurement activities for hardwood timber

Manage and grow supplier relationships

Negotiate and review contracts and supplier agreements

Prepare contracts and manage tender processes

Ensure all timber products meet Australian specifications

Work with certification bodies to maintain compliance standards

Drive business growth in the imported hardwood market in Australia

Identify and implement operational improvements to enhance performance and sustainability

What We’re Looking For

Must have previous managerial experience for on ground operation of both retail and wholesale operations

Proven experience in sales within the timber and the building materials industry

Must have previous procurement experience in South America and Africa

Strong negotiation, relationship management, and contract drafting skills

Willingness to travel internationally and domestically as required

Must have in depth knowledge of certification and compliance standards nationally and internationally

Must have previous experience in international logistics management

Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to business development
