Company Profile: Our client is a small pub group. With a reputation for fun experiences and hands-on leadership, they foster a supportive environment for both their team and clientele. A rare opportunity as General Manager for one of their CBD venues, with a balanced work life of mostly day shifts and supportive ownership.

Position Overview: As the General Manager you will manage operations across the bar, restaurant, function spaces, gaming areas as well as entertainment areas. This role includes overseeing staffing needs, leading a team, training new hires and managing key business operations such as financial reporting, stock control, and general back-of-house duties. The role will also have a big focus on maintaining concept and regulars.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily operations of bars, dining areas, and gaming sections.
  • Handle all staffing requirements, including recruitment, training, and supervision.
  • Inspire and manage a team of professionals to achieve high performance and engagement.
  • Oversee financial operations including cost management, P&L, and KPI tracking.
  • Manage stock orders and conduct regular inventory checks.
  • Have experience with entertainment and managing promoters and talent.
  • Ensure smooth functioning of both front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and venue appearance.
  • Strong compliance and licensing, managing security and CCTV.
  • Adapt to dynamic environments and work efficiently under pressure.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Pub general manager or senior management in a high volume venue.
  • A community-oriented approach with a supportive and positive management style.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Self-driven with the ability to lead by example.
  • Proficient multitasker with a hands-on approach.
  • Solid understanding of financial operations (advantageous).
  • Capable of performing well under pressure and adapting to change.
