Company Profile: Our client is a small pub group. With a reputation for fun experiences and hands-on leadership, they foster a supportive environment for both their team and clientele. A rare opportunity as General Manager for one of their CBD venues, with a balanced work life of mostly day shifts and supportive ownership.
Position Overview: As the General Manager you will manage operations across the bar, restaurant, function spaces, gaming areas as well as entertainment areas. This role includes overseeing staffing needs, leading a team, training new hires and managing key business operations such as financial reporting, stock control, and general back-of-house duties. The role will also have a big focus on maintaining concept and regulars.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily operations of bars, dining areas, and gaming sections.
- Handle all staffing requirements, including recruitment, training, and supervision.
- Inspire and manage a team of professionals to achieve high performance and engagement.
- Oversee financial operations including cost management, P&L, and KPI tracking.
- Manage stock orders and conduct regular inventory checks.
- Have experience with entertainment and managing promoters and talent.
- Ensure smooth functioning of both front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
- Maintain high standards of customer service and venue appearance.
- Strong compliance and licensing, managing security and CCTV.
- Adapt to dynamic environments and work efficiently under pressure.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Pub general manager or senior management in a high volume venue.
- A community-oriented approach with a supportive and positive management style.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Self-driven with the ability to lead by example.
- Proficient multitasker with a hands-on approach.
- Solid understanding of financial operations (advantageous).
- Capable of performing well under pressure and adapting to change.
