Are you an experienced procurement professional with a strong background in local government? This Public Sector client plays a vital role in delivering value for our community through strategic and efficient procurement practices.

As the Procurement Officer, you'll be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement processes, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and internal policies. You'll work closely with internal departments and external suppliers to support timely and cost-effective purchasing while upholding transparency and integrity.

• Manage and coordinate procurement activities in line with council objectives and procurement policy
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships
• Prepare and evaluate tenders, RFQs, and contracts
• Provide procurement advice and support to internal stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices

What you'll need to succeed

• A minimum of 2 years' experience in procurement
  
• Proven experience working within a local government setting
  
• Strong knowledge of procurement frameworks, legislation, and policies relevant to local government
  
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  
• High attention to detail and the ability to work independently
