For this position it is a genuine occupational requirement that it be filled by an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person as permitted by and arguable under sections 25, 104 and 105 of the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Act (1991).

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Senior Performance Coordinator to join Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Indigenous Australians, Indigenous Australians, Chancellery Division.

The Senior Performance Coordinator manages activities to provide high-level support in the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Australians) to enhance and facilitate the achievement of strategic and operational objectives. This position plays a pivotal role in developing and monitoring effective business solutions to enhance productivity, improve processes and streamline workflows, ensuring alignment with university policies and legislative requirements.

The Portfolio leads Indigenous Australian matters, including institutional policy, strategy and advice on all aspects of Indigenous Australian higher education at QUT. The support centre for QUT’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students (Oodgeroo Unit) and the Carumba Institute which provides leadership and guidance to transform and aligns Indigenous research, learning, teaching, sits within the Indigenous Australian Portfolio..

What you need to succeed

  1. Completion of postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and/or extensive relevant experience in policy/program administration.
  2. Proven success working productively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with highly developed influencing skills.
  3. Proven ability to analyse, interpret and report on quantitative and qualitative data, providing reliable, actionable insights.
  4. Demonstrated critical thinking skills and ability to contribute effectively to policy and procedural review, and continuous improvement.
  5. Highly developed written communication skills, with demonstrated high-level expertise in writing and editing a wide range of documents (eg guidelines, reports, and briefing papers.
  6. Proven ability to use initiative to plan and prioritise workloads to meet tight deadlines whilst operating under minimum supervision and maintaining a high level of accuracy.
