- Salary: $62,337 - $70,064 gross p.a. plus 11.5% Super plus allowances
- 38 hours per week, rosters published monthly.
- Work between West Nowra, Huskisson, and Ulladulla depending on operations needs. Also be required to work at the 7 sites including Kangaroo Valley, Berry, Callala, Sussex Inlet, Bendalong, Lake Conjola, and Kiola as required.

About the Role
Operate in accordance with adopted management plans and procedures to ensure the safe and efficient operation of Shoalhaven City Council Recycling and Waste Depots. This role is also required to:
- Work in co-operation and collaboratively with all team members to achieve Council's waste operational goals
- Operate a range of machinery, heavy-rigid vehicles, and related plant and machinery to handle incoming waste while maximising recovery.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and Council's policies and procedures.
- Conduct thorough site and area of operation inspections to identify and action any safety or operational issues prior to opening and closing sites to the public
- Conduct daily pre-operational checks and maintenance on plant and trucks (oil/water/tyre/grease/fuel/clean tracks etc.)

A monthly roster will be implemented to support the business requirements, which operates seven days a week. Candidates selected for this role will be responsible for working shifts which may include weekends and public holidays as required.
About You
To be successful in the position, you will have:
- Certificate 2 in Waste Management, Civil Construction, or equivalent experience
- Previous experience working in waste management or a civil engineering environment
- Hold a current HR Drivers licence or be willing and able to obtain as soon as practicable
- Hold or be willing to obtain a current SafeWork NSW Construction Induction Card (i.e. White Card)
- Experience in the operation of heavy plant and vehicles
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to WHS principles and practices
- Ability and willingness to undertake physical manual work
- Experience in weighbridge operation, cash handling and customer service
- Proof of Australian residency or citizenship
