About the Division
The Leadership Excellence Division delivers high quality leadership professional learning to school leaders at all levels. The professional learning portfolio managed and delivered by the Division includes career stage programs, leadership development programs, capability and disposition development, training programs and coaching and mentoring services. The Division is also responsible for implementation of the Victorian Aspiring Principal Assessment (VAPA). The Division's leadership programs are aligned with the Academy Leadership Excellence Framework, which sets out the practices, capabilities and domains of excellence in educational leadership. All programs are designed in line with high quality professional learning principles.
The Leadership Excellence Division works closely with other Academy Divisions to enable seamless participant support and customer service, efficient learning space and technology management and coordinated statewide program delivery.
About the Role
The Senior Project Officer will be responsible for the ongoing management of professional learning programs and leads, manages, and supports the inception, scoping, development, high-quality planning, delivery and governance of leadership excellence professional learning programs through all stages of the Academy's Operating Model, including, but not limited to procurement, budgets, stakeholder and contract management. This is achieved through leading a multi-functional team from across the Academy.
The Senior Project Officer plays a strategically important role by working collaboratively with Academy stakeholders and external suppliers to coordinate the activities required to successfully deliver the programs, including quality control and monitoring program targets and risks.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Lead and manage a professional learning program/s through its life cycle, working with teams across the Academy to, for instance, procure and onboard appropriate program facilitators, enable high-quality learning design, and ensure the right participants are enrolled in the program.
- Project manage the program/s by developing program timelines, ensuring the programs are delivered on time and within budget, contract managing providers/suppliers and monitoring and reporting program performance, logistics and risks.
- Communicate with various stakeholders to support the various elements of the program's needs, for instance with providers on content and delivery support.
- Support program policy and compliance oversight, for instance staying up to date on Department of Education or broader sector research and evidence informed practice to ensure the programs content remains up to date.
- Build team cohesion with stakeholders within the Division, across the Academy and with partners/providers to support effective program management and/or for managing complex escalations.
Capabilities
You will need to be an effective communicator and collaborator, able to work and lead a cross-functional team to effectively deliver your programs. You must have a strong ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships to successfully reach agreed deliverables. You will also be able to manage and lead complex projects, to navigate program risks and make recommendations or decisions that support successful delivery, as well as be flexible in adapting to changes and competing priorities. Your written skills and contract management expertise will support efficiency and timeliness.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Experience or qualifications in project and program management or learning design and delivery would be valuable but not mandatory.
