The Senior Project Officer Water Recovery Initiatives will contribute to the implementation of the Broken Reconfiguration Project and further funding and deliver opportunities as identified in the Victorian Government Planning Our Basin Future Together (POBFT) prospectus. It will deliver the day-to-day functions of the water recovery initiatives office and POBFT workplan.
Working with the support of the Senior Manager, the Senior Project Officer takes a lead in the management and delivery of the program, ensuring that work towards milestones is documented and achieved.
The Senior Project Officer will need to display strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills to support the successful delivery of the POBFT program. This includes having established and effective working relationships with rural water corporations and Catchment Management Authorities, along with effective working relationships across relevant areas of the Victorian and Commonwealth governments.
Coordination requirements will also be required within the DEECA Water and Catchments Group, bringing together the contribution of different teams across the governance structure of the program to provide input and support the delivery of POBFT projects.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- An appropriate qualification in science, agriculture, natural resource management or program management or an approved equivalent is desired.
- A strong knowledge of Victorian irrigation systems and stakeholders would be highly regarded.
- A current Victorian Driver's License is required.
This is a fixed term position available for a period of 2 Years. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
