About Your Lab:
The laboratory of Cancer Metabolism aims to understand how cells adapt to divergent metabolic stressors and how this is related to carcinogenesis (https://www.qimrb.edu.au/researchers-and-labs/cancer-metabolism)
Role Purpose / Responsibilities:
The following responsibilities will apply but not limited to:
- You will develop and perform CRISPR screens in vivo and in vitro.
- You will perform in vivo studies of cancer development in mice challenged with different diets.
- You will perform in vitro cancer studies - a special focus will be on the mitochondria.
About you:
To be successful in this position:
- You are required to have obtained a PhD degree in a relevant field - preferably in cancer metabolism.
- You are required to have previous experience with CRISPR screens.
- You are required to have practical experience with in vivo mouse models of breast cancer.
- You have experience working with mitochondrial analysis.
- You have experience working with gene manipulation through lenti- and/or retroviral vectors.
- You have experience with grant writing.
Remuneration: Salary range is $ 96,100 to $103,108 plus super and generous salary packaging. This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for 2 years.
