ABOUT BUNDANON
Bundanon is an art museum embedded in a 1,000 hectare landscape, in the Shoalhaven region of NSW. The organisation’s mission is to operate the Bundanon properties as a centre for creative arts and education, to support the development of arts practice across all disciplines and to enable public access to the arts and to the landscape. Bundanon’s vision is to promote creativity and learning based in a unique cultural and natural landscape.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Maintenance Officer enables a well-functioning staff and visitor experience; ensuring reliability, safety and maintenance of the physical and built environment. The key responsibilities include scheduling maintenance, conducting inspections and promptly addressing any issues to uphold high standards of operation, safety and appearance of the sites. At all times, you are a role model of the professional behaviours expected of a dynamic and engaged team.
WHAT YOU WILL DO...
Building Maintenance
- • Undertake routine preventative maintenance.
- • Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requirements, (eg. servicing taps, changing light globes and minor repairs) with consideration to the broader maintenance schedule.
- • Coordinate the workload of the annual maintenance/ exterior cleaning of all property buildings.
Land Maintenance
- • Coordinate assistance with lawn mowing, general garden work and landscaping.
- • Assist in bush regeneration, including weed and erosion control.
- • Manage roads being clear and accessible.
Asset Maintenance
- • Actively manage the Bundanon properties to ensure staff and visitor safety
- • Undertake the servicing and maintenance of fleet vehicles.
- • Maintain water reticulation for house and stock water, and on-site sewerage systems.
- • Ensure property equipment is maintained at a safe working level.
- • Organise basic machinery maintenance and servicing.
- • Perform regular safety, security and fire testing and checks.
- • Provide first level support for IT hardware needs.
Risk Management
- Contribute to risk assessments and deliver to the mitigations and identified controls for Operations.
- Ensure adherence to all safety requirements and standards.
- Assets are maintained in accordance with the schedule, ensuring compliance with servicing requirements and safety checks.
Operational Excellence
- Manage the purchase of minor plant and equipment associated with the activity of providing general maintenance and break fix support to the organisation
- • Manage maintenance requests, work with contractors as needed.
- • Identify and resolve operational process problems in a timely manner.
- • Investigate and research standards and blueprints for changes in equipment, technology and laws and update colleagues processes and procedure documentation as required.
- • Monitor stock levels, materials and equipment to avoid shortages or excesses.
- • Maintain continuous communication with stakeholders throughout all phases of work.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
- Knowledge of and capacity to perform routine maintenance on many different assets
- Formal Trade Qualifications and practical work experience, demonstrating basic trade skills
- Proven “hands-on” experience in service-based industry
- Minimum of 2 years previous experience in building/ site maintenance preferred
- Strong organisational skills for managing maintenance schedules, tasks & records effectively.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of WHS legislation and related responsibilities including Risk Assessments (RA) Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS)
- Flexibility with regards to working hours
- Up-to-date knowledge of relevant computer software systems, particularly the Office 365 suite
