The Role
We are seeking an Assistant Manager with proven optical dispensing and/or retail management experience—ideally both. This is a key leadership position for someone who is confident supporting the day-to-day operations of a busy practice and passionate about driving team performance, morale, and cohesion.

You’ll be an integral part of the leadership team, working closely with the Practice Manager to guide and motivate a diverse team of optometrists and optical dispensers. You’ll also step up and take the reins when the Manager is away.

What You'll Be Doing

Supporting the Practice Manager in overseeing daily operations

Leading by example in customer service, communication, and professionalism

Helping team members develop and thrive through encouragement and guidance

Ensuring smooth processes in stock management, rostering, and compliance

Contributing to a positive and proactive team culture

Taking initiative and stepping up when the Practice Manager is away

Key Responsibilities

Support and deputise for the Practice Manager as required

Lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service and product knowledge

Assist in mentoring and integrating team members to build a positive and collaborative culture

Foster a proactive approach to KPIs and business targets

What We’re Looking For

Minimum 3 years' experience in optical retail, management, or both

Proven ability to lead teams, resolve conflict, and build morale

Strong dispensing knowledge and ability to support clinical workflows

Personable communicator with a collaborative and solutions-focused mindset

A passion for patient care and business excellence
