
Biosecurity Support Officer

As a Biosecurity Support Officer, you will conduct regulatory activities across the Animal Biosecurity and Welfare, Invasive Species, Plant Biosecurity and Emergency Response within the framework of relevant legislation and state and local policies, procedures and operational plans and provides operational frontline, field service delivery in line with business plans.
You will play an important part in implementing priority field animal biosecurity activities.
We are looking for an individual who can:
Demonstrate high-quality customer service outcomes
Assist in the rollout of on-ground projects relating to invasive species and animal health & welfare
Contribute to compliance programs to ensure legislated biosecurity obligations including pest and disease management and livestock and plant traceability meet national performance standards
Provide feedback and information on projects and field service delivery and contribute to a team environment of skill and knowledge sharing and skill development amongst employees of the new LLS organisation
About You
To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will have:
Experience working independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Current NSW Class C drivers licence and the willingness to travel (including overnight stays)
Knowledge of farming operations, biosecurity issues, and relevant legislation would be an advantage
Onsite training will be provided to the successful candidate and will take place within the first few weeks of starting.
