We are looking for a well-versed Team Leader for our Supported Independent Living homes to oversee operations and lead a dynamic team of Support Workers. You will guide and coach our Support Workers to provide the highest quality of professional care to our participants. This permanent, full-time position sees you working Monday to Friday based in Lake Macquarie as you provide visible, authentic and proactive leadership.

You’re an exceptional communicator who can engage with just about anyone. Your relationship building skills sees you excel in managing and delivering on customer expectations. This includes balancing client needs with what can be complex family dynamics and handling tricky and sensitive matters with care.
You pride yourself on your eye for detail and have a proven track record of timely and accurate record keeping, report writing, and supporting your team to adhere to strict compliance requirements.
Lastly, you’re resilient, empathetic, and ready to make a lasting impact. This is a client-focused leadership role, requiring a commitment to quality service, and the ability to foster team engagement and collaboration.
What you’ll do:
- Lead a team in best practice processes, ensuring safety is paramount.
- Understand the needs of people we support whilst encouraging independence and empowerment.
- Support the referral process of participants to services or programs.
- Maintain reporting requirements in line with best practice as dictated by the Quality and Safeguards Commission.
- Performance management and development of team members.
- Day-to-day operational management of our SIL facilities.
- Liaising with families, carers and other organisations regarding the provision of support to clients.
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of participants and employees.
- Maintaining accurate records and providing information for reporting purposes.
- Working closely with the MyTrust and SSC teams to ensure the smooth delivery of the service in regard to staffing and NDIS plans.
- Using Outlook, Excel and various internal systems including Carelink+ and Riskman.
