BDCS operates a Childcare Centre, Preschool, Mobile Play Sessions, and Before and After School Care, ensuring accessible and quality early childhood education and care for the community.

About the Opportunity
Bourke & District Children’s Services (BDCS) are looking for full-time qualified Early Childhood Educators based in Bourke, NSW.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe environment, designing and implementing daily routines, fostering exploration and problem-solving, and mentoring other team members to ensure the delivery of high-quality early learning and care. The role reports to the Centre Director in our childcare service.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maintaining a safe environment for children, families, team members, and visitors
Designing and implementing daily routines to ensure the highest standard of education and care
Forming positive, nurturing relationships with children and fostering their curiosity, exploration, and problem-solving skills
Assisting in leading and mentoring other team members to ensure high-quality early learning and care
Supporting the Centre Director in leadership and operational responsibilities
You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the Bourke Maranguka Collaboration Project, a community-led initiative focused on improving outcomes for Bourke's Indigenous children and families. This project offers a unique chance to be involved in transformative, community-driven work.
About You
To be considered for this role, you must have a Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education (or an ACECQA-approved equivalent) and 3 years of experience in Children’s Services.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
Proficient in IT applications relevant to an early childhood setting
Current First Aid Certificate, including CPR
Proven experience in teaching, leading, and mentoring educators
A calm and solution-focused approach to problem-solving
Enthusiasm for engaging in community-driven initiatives like the Bourke Maranguka Collaboration
As our ideal candidate, you will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for early childhood education, and a commitment to fostering a supportive and nurturing environment for children and families. You should be adaptable, patient, and eager to contribute to the ongoing development of our services and community.
You must possess or have the ability to obtain a Working With Children Check (WWCC) and a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) is essential.
