Nikinpa Child and Family Centre are looking for passionate and committed Early Childhood Educators to join the team and make a positive difference within the community.

Nikinpa Child and Family Centre is part of the services provided by the Muloobinba Aboriginal Corporation, which offers a safe place for Aboriginal children, young people, and their families. Nikinpa also provides access to health, counselling, and support services.
We offer a 54-place childcare and preschool facility that lays the foundation for an Aboriginal child’s educational journey in a culturally appropriate setting. We foster strong relationships with children and families and uphold cultural practices that support the Aboriginal identity of those using our service.
About the position
These positions are full time, 38 hours per week. Multiple positions are available at our centre.
We offer;
Above award hourly rates ( 22% ) for all Certificate III Educators
Full salary packaging offered + Superannuation
Centre hours hours 8am - 5.30pm

The Early Childhood Educator (Cert III) will be an active member of a team providing culturally appropriate early childhood education and care services.
As an Identified Aboriginal service the foundation of the work we do is built on relationships and our connectedness to each other. This connectedness allows us to operate Nikinpa in a way that it is much more than an early childhood education and care service.
The Cert III Early Childhood Educator will also assist in developing and implementing the service's Quality Improvement Plan.
While this position involves many tasks, quality interactions with children and families are the most important. You will be required to supervise children’s play, respond to their interests, and ensure positive interactions. You will also set up experiences in both indoor and outdoor environments and ensure that the room is tidied and all materials are put away at the end of the day.
A key part of this role is the duty of care for children and will be expected to understand and adhere to the National Quality Standards , Child Safe Standards, Education & Care Services National Laws and Regulations, the Early Years Learning Framework and Code of Conduct.
Position Requirements;
Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
Have completed a Certificate III in Early Education & Care
Have a understanding and knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
Hold a Working with Children Check Clearance
National Police Check
Have a COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate (minimum of 2 doses)
Desirable requirements;
Understanding of Trauma Informed Practice
Ability to respond to Children's emotional, social and wellbeing needs
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
Have a genuine desire to work within a team and have the ability to use initiative
Are flexible and committed and shows strong work ethic
Engage in reflective practice
