About the role

Aqua-Marine Marketing AUS Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper/Accounts Manager to join our team in Cairns, QLD. This full-time role is crucial in supporting our growing business and ensuring accurate financial records. As our Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day bookkeeping tasks and providing valuable insights to our management team.

What you'll be doing

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, sales monitoring and financial reporting

Preparing and processing payroll, including tax and superannuation calculations

Assisting with the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements

Liaising with our customers and supplier as well as external accountants and auditors to ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations

Providing support and guidance to the wider team on financial matters

Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing efficient bookkeeping practices

What we're looking for

Minimum of 3 years' experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role, preferably within a small to medium-sized business

Strong working knowledge of accounting software, such as MYOB or Xero

Excellent attention to detail and a meticulous approach to financial record-keeping

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights

A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel

Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting or bookkeeping would be highly regarded
