A little about the role:
Our client is mid level accounting firm, located in Brisbane city, who are eagerly looking for a Senior Bookkeeper with solid Xero experience to join their team.
This role is responsible for clients bookkeeping as delegated by the manager to ensure accuracy and completeness of work with a high level of attention to detail, while at the same time maintaining productivity standards. You will be working with a tightknit team of accountants who are providing exceptional service to their range of clients.
More specifically, you will:
Ensuring the organisation is meeting it statutory BAS client obligations including management of BAS lodgement spreadsheet and extension list
Monitoring of bookkeeping workflow including the status of all work and lodgement requirements
Provide high standard of client liaison as required
Undertake bookkeeping data entry including but not limited to, entering of debtors/creditors, reconciliation of bank accounts, payroll etc.
Assisting clients in preparation of Business/Instalment Activity Statements
Assisting clients in preparing payroll, superannuation, reconciling end of year wages and Payment summaries for employees
Provide consulting advice in relation to establishing new software, data files, office procedures and other ad hoc tasks as requested by Director
Provide training and assistance to clients on above areas of bookkeeping services as requested
Provide support and training for team members assisting the bookkeeping clients
Data entry and maintenance of firm IP including permanent filing, document management system and client database where required
Assistance in the review of internal procedures and proposal of new procedures to improve efficiency of administration and accountants
Maintaining a commercial outlook in relation to productivity and WIP management in relation to yourself and team members
Adherence to all Workplace Health and Safety guidelines
Adherence to all the organisation’s employment policies
A little about you:
We are looking for a team player who has a high attention to detail looking for an exciting new opportunity. You will have well-developed XERO skills as well as strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with your clients is essential. You must be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team to achieve results.
You must have strong communication skills both written and oral and demonstrate your ability to listen to the needs of your clients.
Key Requirements:
Ideally at least 3 years experience in a similar role
Certification IV in Bookkeeping (preferred)
Strong understanding of accounting and book keeping procedures
Solid Xero experience
Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and detail in all accounts
Intermediate Microsoft suite experience especially with Excel Strong data entry skills
Payables and receivable experience
BAS and reconciliation experience
Using initiative to ensure quality and efficient work
Tend to with incoming queries, issues and day to day needs of your clients as they arise
Delivering results through innovation, implementation and team engagement
Work autonomously and demonstrate a strong ability to deliver to expectations of requirements
