The School is at the forefront of learning, creativity and innovative practice utilising its independent identity and distinctive studio-based teaching model to deliver exceptional higher education and research, scholarship and professional practice.
The position
NAS is seeking a commercially minded, highly organised Event Manager with strong experience in hospitality, licensed venue operations, and event delivery. This role delivers a wide range of internal and external events, including Graduate Shows, Gallery Openings, Public Programs, Fundraisers, and Open Day. NAS also operates as a commercial venue, hiring the Cell Block Theatre for weddings, corporate events, and product launches.
You will manage end-to-end production, licensing compliance, and delivery of all events, balancing audience, artistic, and commercial goals. The role also involves driving venue hire sales, meeting revenue targets, and ensuring compliance with heritage site requirements.
What you bring to the role
You will have a proven track record of selling, designing, delivering events and production for venue hire and internal School events. You're passionate about promoting venue hire, offering exceptional customer service, and effectively communicating with clients, including brides and event planners.
You will also bring a strong understanding and commitment to the Schools internal event cycle, with responsibility for overseeing the NAS Event and Program Calendar and coordinating events across Academic Departments, the Gallery, Fundraising, Public Programs, Marketing, Facilities, and Operations.
You will have a solid understanding of working on a licensed premise and the NSW Liquor Laws. With proven team management experience, you can build and lead a high-performing Events Team. Your strong project management and budgeting skills will ensure the successful delivery of both internal and external events.
