About the Role
As Manager, Strategy and Performance, you’ll play a pivotal role in steering AUSMASA’s strategic planning, performance reporting, and enterprise-level insights. Reporting to the Executive Director, Corporate Services and Operations, you’ll work closely with the CEO and Executive Team to drive alignment across strategic priorities, inform high-level decision-making, and deliver meaningful, data-informed reporting to the Board and government stakeholders.
You’ll lead the development and refinement of AUSMASA’s Strategic Plan, manage performance frameworks and enterprise dashboards, and coordinate complex internal planning processes. As the strategic engine behind AUSMASA’s reporting and planning ecosystem, your work will directly influence outcomes at the highest level.
Key Focus Areas
Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of AUSMASA’s Strategic Plan
Provide strategic advice to the CEO and Executive Team on alignment, delivery risks, and progress
Coordinate annual planning cycles, integrating strategic objectives with budgets, workforce planning, and delivery
Oversee the organisation’s performance framework and dashboards, shifting the focus from activity to impact
Prepare high-quality strategic reports for the Board, CEO, and government, ensuring clarity, insight, and alignment
Coordinate inputs across executive portfolios, and drive cohesive internal policy and planning frameworks
About You
You’re a strategic thinker with a strong grasp of enterprise performance, planning, and reporting. You bring credibility, attention to detail, and a confident advisory style that supports senior leaders in making informed, insight-driven decisions.
You bring:
Minimum 5 years' experience in strategic planning, performance reporting, policy, or executive advisory roles
Proven success in leading strategy execution or organisational performance at a senior level
Strong writing and editing skills across board papers, executive briefings, and government reports
Advanced skills in Power BI (or similar tools) and the ability to translate data into strategic insight
Confidence in advising Executive Teams and Boards on performance risks and progress
A collaborative, proactive mindset with experience influencing without formal authority
Desirable:
Familiarity with DEWR performance reporting or grant acquittals
Experience developing strategic plans and internal performance policies
An understanding of vocational education, workforce development, or national skills policy
