About the role:
Reporting to the Specialist Project Manager - Noise, the Project Officer is a member of a team responsible for the design and delivery of a quality assurance program for environmental auditor functions for wind energy facilities. You will support your team and engage with proponents and provide advice to achieve optimal outcomes aligned to EPA's strategic priorities to prevent harm to Victorian communities and the environment from pollution and waste. The project officer will contribute to the success of the EPA as it enters a new era of environmental protection in Victoria. Working closely with the Specialist Project Manager - Noise and the Environmental Audit Unit, you will actively contribute to a positive organisational culture and achieve the highest standards of performance and integrity. You will also help foster genuine partnerships across all levels of government, industry, and community to deliver organisational outcomes.
In this role you will:
- Working under the direction of the Specialist Project Manager - Noise, plan, design and delivery of a quality assurance program for environmental auditor functions for wind energy facilities.
- Actively contribute to the development of a positive and high performing team culture, including by identifying and implementing opportunities to improve systems and teamwork practices.
- Support the team with the design and implementation of quality assurance programs.
- Undertake administrative processes and other tasks as directed for the effective achievement of regulatory outcomes; ensure that all Government and EPA policies and procedures, such and financial management, occupational health and safety, and conduct are complied with.
Skills and experience:
A tertiary degree and/or post graduate qualifications in environmental or science discipline is desirable.
Knowledge of Victoria's independent environmental auditor framework.
- Proven ability to apply relevant government legislation, regulations, reporting directives and procedures, to achieve optimal organisational outcomes.
- A proven record of achievement in a similar role which contributes to organisational excellence, high standards of performance and a positive organisational culture.
