About the Business:
We are a manufacturer, importer/exporter, wholesaler, and retailer of premium Australian Sheepskin products, located in Vermont. As we continue to grow, we're seeking a self-motivated Bookkeeper to join our small, friendly team.
This is a full-time, office-based position with a Monday to Friday work schedule. However, we're open to discussing flexible work arrangements for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Bank Reconciliations: Managing bank reconciliations using Xero across wholesale, retail, and online sales channels.
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Processing and managing accounts payable and receivable.
Tax Compliance: Preparing BAS and collaborating with our external accountants for tax compliance.
Cashflow Management: Monitoring and managing business cashflow to ensure financial stability.
Import/Export Documentation: Preparing and filing shipping documents for imports/exports, including working with Trade Finance products.
Document Filing & Organisation: Maintaining an organised system for both digital and physical documents.
General Administration: Assisting with general administrative tasks and ad hoc duties as required.
Skills & Experience:
To be considered for this role, the successful candidate will have the following attributes:
Proven experience (minimum 4 years) in a similar bookkeeping or accounting role.
Expertise in Xero Accounting Software is a must.
Experience with Shopify e-commerce platform and/or a Warehouse Management System (WMS), such as DEAR Inventory/Cin7, is ideal but not compulsory.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with immediate to advanced computer skills.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
A reliable, dedicated work ethic with excellent time management skills.
