About the role
We are growing the team and looking for a Screen Industry Officer to work alongside the Screen Industry Advisor. You will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure Invest Gold Coast assists in attracting production to the Gold Coast, developing the local Gold Coast industry and building capacity of the City’s screen sector. You will also assist in sourcing, establishing and maintaining relationships with relevant film industry contacts, location managers and scouts to promote Gold Coast as Australia's best filming location.
Key responsibilities:
Prepare location script breakdowns and presentations for production companies to assist in attracting productions to the City.
Assist with production deliverable documents and digital assets.
Maintain and update the Gold Coast Film Commission website, which includes managing production and location content, and creating and updating production case studies for our website.
Manage administrative access and control of our Reel Scout membership and maintain the database.
Photograph and source images to build and maintain our locations gallery, update and maintain our location book and showreels.
Establish solid working relationships with Gold Coast based location managers and scouts, and organise logistics for location scouts and events. Organise regular scouts to key locations and research new areas.
Liaise with property owners, local businesses and other government authorities to determine interest level in permitting access for filming. Update standard policies for filming on the Gold Coast to ensure currency.
Establish and maintain communication with Division Council Office contacts.
Ensure that the SmartyGrants Application database is maintained, updated, and improved.
Process and prepare Locations Assistance applications.
Assist with the pipeline documents for weekly reporting with the Screen Industry Advisor, and prepare and deliver post event reports.
About you
You are a passionate and driven individual with a course or degree in Screen, Film, or Media Production and/or 3+ years’ screen sector experience. Your creative eye is complemented by hands-on experience in stills photography and editing, and you are enthusiastic about crafting compelling visual presentations that tell a story.
You bring a solid foundation in digital tools, with demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and creative software such as Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. Your strong organisational and time management skills enable you to effectively juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines with confidence.
With excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you thrive in collaborative environments and are adept at engaging with team members, local government stakeholders, and screen industry professionals.
