Senior Medical Receptionist, Full-time 38 hours per week
Turn The Corner Medical Clinic
Posted 4 days ago
Turn The Corner is a private billing family medical clinic based in Northcote with satellite clinics in Brunswick and Fairfield. Our team includes doctors, psychologists, nurses, and onsite pathology – all backed up by a great Support team!
We are innovative, fast paced, and use modern software tools to help deliver high quality service to our patients. We have a strong, capable, collegiate team and believe that happy, motivated staff help to create an environment that allows the practice of good medicine. Please check out our website and Google reviews to get a sense of who we are.
Due to our continued growth, we are seeking a senior Medical Receptionist to join our team. The role will be full time, spread across either 4 or 5 weekdays; we have some flexibility in that regard. You would work primarily at Northcote where our back office team is based, with occasional travel to Brunswick and Fairfield.
You are a Medical Receptionist with at least 5 years’ experience wanting to make a move into a young, dynamic team. You are passionate about helping people – whether patients, clinicians or colleagues – and recognise that to do that, you need great systems and processes to help you do your job efficiently. You might have ideas about how processes can be improved where you’re currently working but perhaps feel resistance to change; we consider ourselves agile and open to new ideas. One day, you’d like to be a Practice Manager.
We offer a competitive hourly rate plus Super, and the opportunity to join a dynamic team that supports each other to deliver high quality care and service to our patients.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate that they;
1. Have at least 5 years’ experience in a private billing medical clinic environment.
2. Are energetic, professional and have an ability to identify and address operational challenges proactively, offering solutions to improve efficiency and patient care.
3. Have strong interpersonal skills and are able to manage the expectations of patients and clinicians in an empathetic, constructive way.
4. Possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients, clinicians, and colleagues.
5. Have a proven ability to manage complex appointment systems, patient records, and administrative workflows with high accuracy. Ideally you will have advanced knowledge of Best Practice, and general IT skills.
6. Have some experience in supervising or mentoring reception staff, with the ability to lead by example and support team development.
7. Are calm under pressure with strong prioritisation and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and competing demands efficiently.
8. Are familiar with data privacy and confidentiality requirements, and medical record-keeping protocols.
If this sounds like a role you’d be suitable for and would enjoy, please don’t hesitate to reach out for an initial conversation. In your cover note, please address the points above. We’d love to hear from you.
