In alignment with the WA Government’s Public Sector Reform (March 2025), this position will initially sit within DEMIRS but will join the newly formed Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration from 1 July 2025.
The Role
· Provides geological advice to the General Manager Land Use Planning in relation to land development proposals in accordance with the provisions of Section 16(3) of the Mining Act and according to Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) between DMIRS and other government departments
· Provides advice internally within the Department and to other government agencies, by undertaking resource assessments and prospectivity analyses in relation to conservation estate proposals and the development of regional plans and town planning schemes
· Provides geoscientific and administrative advice on Mining Act assessments related to mineral resources, mineral prospectivity and reported mineral exploration activities.
· Provides geoscientific and administrative advice within their field of expertise to other branches of the department.
