Your role is essential in supporting daily food service operations and ensuring high-quality meals for our residents. What You’ll Do
We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Cook/Kitchen hand in our aged care facility, you will play a key role in providing nutritious, high-quality meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare meals that meet the nutritional needs and preferences of our residents, including those with special dietary requirements.
- Kitchen Management: Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff and other team members to deliver a seamless dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Menus: Create diverse and balanced menus that cater to the tastes and dietary needs of residents.
- Maintain Hygiene Standards: Ensure all food handling and kitchen practices adhere to strict hygiene and safety standards.
- Inventory Control: Manage inventory, order supplies, and minimize food waste through efficient practices.
- Resident Engagement: Interact with residents to gather feedback and adjust menus to enhance satisfaction.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a kitchen, preferably in aged care or healthcare setting (desirable but not essential).
- Knowledge of food safety standards & kitchen hygiene practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong time management skills and a proactive approach to kitchen duties.
- A compassionate and respectful attitude towards elderly residents.
Requirements
- One years’ experience as a commercial cook, working in a hygiene-controlled environment.
- A current National Police Certificate.
