Do you have a passion for cooking and want to make a meaningful impact? Churches of Christ, a not-for-profit organization with over 140 years of service, is looking for a dedicated Cook to join our aged care facility team.

About the Role:

As a Cook / Experienced Kitchen hand, you will play a crucial role in creating nourishing meals that bring comfort and joy to our residents. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and serving meals that are both nutritious and delicious, tailored to meet the dietary needs of our residents.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen, ensuring all equipment, appliances, and utensils meet food safety and infection control standards.
  • Handling food preparation and basic cooking duties to ensure timely and high-quality meal delivery.
  • Keeping accurate records of meals served, missed meals, and fridge/freezer temperatures.
  • Liaising with supervisors and suppliers for stock control and ordering as needed.

What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a passionate, detail-oriented individual with:

  • At least 1 year of experience as a commercial cook in a hygiene-controlled environment.
  • Knowledge of commercial food preparation, cooking processes, and food hygiene control.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to engage with staff and residents.
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication.
  • Commitment to maintaining kitchen safety and infection control standards.

Required Certifications (or willingness to obtain):

  • Current National Police Certificate.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (if applicable).
