What You’ll Do
Clive Burdeu Aged Care Service is dedicated to providing exceptional care for our elderly residents. We are currently seeking two compassionate and dedicated Environmental Services Workers looking to work a minimum of 40 hours a fortnight to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our residents, with a strong focus on cleaning and laundry services, and occasional support in food service.
As an Environmental Services Worker, you’ll play a vital role in the daily lives of our residents by ensuring their surroundings are clean, hygienic, and welcoming.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Laundry Operations: Managing the full laundry cycle—sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linen and personal clothing with care and attention to detail.
- Facility Cleaning: Maintaining high standards of cleanliness in resident rooms, bathrooms, and communal areas, following infection control and hygiene protocols.
- Equipment Care: Ensuring all cleaning and laundry equipment is used safely, maintained properly, and stored securely.
- Occasional Support in Kitchen/Dining Areas: Assisting with light duties such as setting up or clearing trays and trolleys when required.
If you’re looking to start your career in aged care or hospitality, this role offers the perfect foundation to build your skills and grow within a supportive and purpose-driven organisation.
About You
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in creating clean, safe, and welcoming environments—someone who understands that behind every freshly made bed or folded towel is a resident who deserves dignity and comfort.
We’re looking for individuals who are not only reliable and hardworking, but who also bring warmth and compassion to everything they do.
We’re looking for someone who will:
- Take ownership of cleaning and laundry routines, ensuring resident rooms, bathrooms, and communal areas are spotless, hygienic, and inviting.
- Manage the full laundry cycle—from sorting and washing to drying, folding, and returning garments and linen with care and attention to detail.
- Bring a strong work ethic, excellent time management, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents, staff, and themselves.
- Demonstrate kindness, respect, and compassion in every interaction with residents, understanding that your work directly impacts their daily comfort and dignity.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in cleaning and/or laundry services, ideally in aged care, healthcare, or hospitality.
- A strong work ethic, reliability, and a genuine desire to help others.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
- A commitment to safety, hygiene, and infection control procedures.
- A genuine passion for working with elderly residents.
- Flexibility to work across cleaning and laundry areas as required.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable:
- Certificate II in Cookery or similar (occasional kitchen support).
- Basic computer skills (e.g., Outlook, Internet Explorer).
- Previous experience in aged care or a similar care-based setting.
Other Requirements:
- A current National Police Check
