🚀 About the Role

We're on the hunt for an experienced and commercially-minded SEM Director to lead the paid search offering and drive performance for a portfolio of high-value clients. This is a pivotal leadership role for someone who blends deep technical SEM know-how with sharp strategic thinking and a passion for business results.

You’ll be responsible for leading the SEM function, mentoring a team of high-performing specialists, and setting the vision for best-practice campaign management. You’ll work directly with senior clients, media partners, and internal stakeholders to turn complex search challenges into smart, scalable solutions that drive real impact.


📌 Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership & Strategy

Own the agency’s SEM strategy across Google Ads and Microsoft Ads platforms

Lead a team of SEM specialists—supporting growth, learning, and performance

Guide the creation of advanced campaign structures, bid strategies, and targeting

Develop holistic SEM roadmaps aligned with full-funnel media strategies

Keep the agency at the forefront of SEM innovation, automation, and platform changes

2. Campaign Management & Technical Expertise

Oversee the execution and optimisation of high-budget paid search campaigns

Champion best practices in tracking (GTM, GA4), attribution, and first-party data use

Use tools like Performance Max, Search Ads 360, and SA360 to scale automation

Conduct account audits, budget forecasts, and advanced performance analysis

Collaborate with creative, UX, and analytics teams to optimise performance touchpoints

3. Client Strategy & Communication

Act as the strategic lead for senior client relationships on all SEM matters

Present quarterly business reviews, insights, and performance recommendations

Identify new growth opportunities and upsell SEM solutions where relevant

Simplify complex SEM data into client-friendly stories that inspire confidence

🧠 Key Skills

Mastery of Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, and Search Ads 360

Deep knowledge of automation, bidding strategies, and dynamic ad tech

Experience with GA4, GTM, and advanced attribution and audience frameworks

Strong analytical and strategic thinking, with fluency in Excel and Looker Studio

Outstanding client communication, leadership, and people management skills

✅ Experience Requirements

6+ years in paid search, including senior leadership in an agency environment

Proven success in scaling campaigns, improving efficiency, and hitting KPIs

Experience managing large paid search budgets ($100K–$1 M+ monthly)

Track record of team leadership, client satisfaction, and SEM innovation

Familiarity with enterprise clients, multi-market strategies, and B2B/B2C models

🎓 Bonus if you have:

Google Ads Search & Measurement Certifications

SA360, DV360, or Campaign Manager 360 experience

Experience in verticals like retail, fintech, eCommerce, or travel

Working knowledge of CRO, feed management, and audience segmentation tools
