Workshop Controller – Lead With Purpose at Cairns Cars

Cairns Cars is seeking a driven, experienced, and goal-oriented Workshop Controller to take the reins of our fast-paced workshop in tropical Far North Queensland. We proudly service a premium mix of brands including Audi, Skoda, Honda, Renault, Volvo, Haval, GWM, Jaecoo & Xpeng – and we’re looking for someone who is dedicated in their approach to leadership and performance.

The Role:

As our Workshop Controller, you’ll be the engine behind the daily operations of the workshop – ensuring workflow is seamless, the team is motivated, and every vehicle leaves meeting our high standards. You'll take ownership of day-to-day operations, inspire your team, and deliver real results.

What You’ll Do:

Mentor the well trained team

Drive workshop workflow and ensure repair deadlines are consistently met

Oversee internal fittings and cleaning procedures to maintain high quality standards

Schedule, assign, and support team tasks with clarity and precision

Foster teamwork and open communication across departments

Monitor job progress and quickly resolve roadblocks

Implement efficiencies and lead continuous improvement efforts

Implement systems to create an efficient workplace

Ensure technical bulletins are followed

What You Bring:

Your fully qualified Automotive technician skills

A proven track record of leadership in a busy automotive workshop

Strong people and communication skills – you’re a team builder

Motivated, organised, and results-driven with a “lead from the front” attitude

The confidence to problem-solve and make decisions under pressure

A current Queensland Driver’s Licence is essential
