Key Responsibilities:

Provide legal advice on a diverse range of services for the AUNEW and GMP Group, including draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements.

Offer practical legal guidance to the Company’s Business Units, and work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to develop strategies that support the company's goals.

Oversee litigated matters, including manage outside counsel, participate in settlement negotiations, and resolve disputes.

Conduct legal research on various issues and emerging developments that impact the business, including comply with regulatory requirements.

Work on and advise on various property projects and related matters.

Provide guidance to fellow legal counsel, assist with legal requests within the team, and act as the legal service provider on matters as needed.

Maintain an understanding of the Group’s main businesses, their associated risks, and develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders.

Demonstrate high standards of workplace practices in alignment with company’s policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience:

Qualified with a law degree and admitted as an Australian legal practitioner.

Legal Practising Certificate issued by the Law Society of NSW.

5-8 years’ post qualification experience (PQE) in an in-house or law firm environment.

Experience in commercial law.

Skills & Attributes:

Solid technical knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Corporations Act, ASIC regulatory requirements, and company secretarial procedures.

Proven expertise in contract negotiation, commercial law, and high-quality legal drafting.

Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strategic working relationships, influence, negotiate with and persuade senior stakeholders.

Mandarin-speaking is advantageous but not essential.
