THE ROLE:

As Legal Counsel, you will support the business on a wide range of legal issues and be heavily involved in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements and contracts. We seek experience of front-end (required) and back-end (highly regarded). This role is critical in managing legal risks and fostering partnerships within the organisation.

Provide legal advice to the business on all legal issues, including commercial, safety and compliance, procurement contracts, debt recovery, and people and industrial relations.

Lead the contract review process, including preparing and negotiating departures from contract templates, risk review and advice, insurance review, internal stakeholder engagement, completion of internal sign-offs, and execution.

Assist management with the review and update of the corporate risk register.

Assist with litigation and resolution of commercial disputes and workplace safety investigations.

Participate in special projects.

ABOUT YOU:

You have the basics:

You hold an Australian Legal Practicing Certificate and have at least 6 years of post-qualification experience

You live in Sydney

Ideally, you have in-house experience within or supplying the following industries with goods or services:

Construction

Infrastructure

Mining

Utilities
