About us
Hunter Carers is a non-profit organisation offering long term accommodation and community support to people with intellectual disability from diverse cultural backgrounds. Founded in 1991 by a small group of parents concerned about the future accommodation of their sons and daughters, Hunter Carers prides itself on its home-like environment and atmosphere of caring inclusion and engagement of residents, families and staff. Consisting of three homes Cardiff area, we are expanding to include a purpose-built home for those residents who are experiencing issues of ageing. Due to its modest size, Hunter Carers can deliver a more personal service unlike many larger organisations. Recent staff surveys indicate excellent worker satisfaction and a low incident profile. Hunter Carers are a registered service provider with the NDIS
Qualifications & experience
- Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise work activities to achieve work outcomes
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation and analysis of financial statements
- Demonstrated attention to detail with a very high level of accuracy when working with a range of computer systems (including Excel, MYOB)
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
- Evidence of solid communication skills, both verbal and high level interpersonal skills
- NDIS Worker Check clearance or willingness to undertake same
- Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to undertake same
- Current Drivers Licence
Tasks & responsibilities
- Providing consistent, high quality customer service as a person of contact including, telephone, email enquiries and personal contact with clients
- Preparation of staff payroll data including payroll roster, timesheets etc
- Maintenance of accurate records in relation to staff pay rates, leave entitlements, qualifications and salary remuneration
- Preparation and submission of financial reports including ATO PAYG reports and payments, BAS reports and MYOB bank reconciliations
- Submission of online claims for NDIS supports and maintaining records
- Implementation and maintenence of a well-organised, up to date filing system in accordance with established methods in order to meet privacy and confidentiality obligations
- Ensuring a high degree of accuracy in the completion, recording and filing of all paperwork related to the tasks of the role
- Assistance with the preparation for and recording of relevant meetings and events
- Actively contributing to working groups/projects aimed at enhancing service delivery to residents of Hunter Carers homes
