Our client is a statutory NSW government body that oversees a private consortium and is building five renewable energy zones

The Central-West Orana (CWO) Transmission Project is a $3.2 billion Greenfield Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) project that will connect solar, wind farms and energy storage to the NSW electricity grid

Role Description:

This is a high profile, Senior Executive role

The Access Integration Director, CWO will lead the successful connection and integration of Access Rights Holders (Generators) with the CWO REZ

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the Generator connection processes of the Access Rights Holders to the REZ Network Infrastructure.
• Commercial oversight and management of the Project Development Agreements including social licence agreements
• Oversight of the Electricity Supply Contract Agreements (ESCA)
• Ensure notification of technical and network changes to the Access Right Holders
• Oversight and assurance of the Generator commissioning program
• Maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders and ensure integration with Access Rights, technical services
• Support the teams on Generator connection matters, including connection processes, system strength determination and physical connection arrangement
• Effective and timely communication with decision makers and stakeholders relating to the Generators
• Meet the requirements for governance, reporting, risk management, confidentiality and probity
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless connection and commissioning processes.
• Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

• Minimum of 15 years relevant experience
• Highly Experienced in project development, program delivery and commissioning with Generators (Wind/ Solar/ Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) / Hydro)
• Experienced in leading and managing a cross functional team
• Strong commercial acumen
• Strong understanding of the technical and regulatory requirements for generator project
• Tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering, project management, or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Desirable:

• Experience in major greenfield infrastructure projects and grid connections.
• Understanding of the legal and regulatory framework applicable to CWO REZ
• In-depth understanding of connection and commissioning principles and best practices.
• Experience in developing and implementing connection and commissioning strategies and plans.
• Familiarity with the renewable energy sector, including knowledge of infrastructure projects and regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to manage complex connection and commissioning activities across multiple projects.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing technical documentation and reports.
• Proficiency in using connection and commissioning tools and platforms.
