About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced and strategic leader to step into a high-impact role as Director – Generator Access Integration with a NSW Government agency driving the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (CWO REZ) rollout.

This role is responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end connection of renewable energy projects (wind, solar, BESS, hydro) into the REZ grid infrastructure, ensuring commercial, technical, and commissioning alignment across key stakeholders, including ACEREZ, Transgrid, and Access Rights Holders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the connection and integration of generation projects into the CWO REZ infrastructure.
  • Oversee Project Development Agreements (PDAs) and Electricity Supply Contracts (ESCAs).
  • Act as the primary liaison with Access Rights Holders (generators), maintaining strong relationships and resolving technical or commercial issues.
  • Coordinate generator commissioning and integration activities across internal teams and external delivery partners.
  • Ensure compliance with governance, risk, reporting, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Represent EnergyCo’s interests across project integration, social licence obligations, and WHS standards.

About You

You are a seasoned project or program leader with a deep background in renewable energy, grid connection, and major infrastructure delivery. You bring credibility, commercial acumen, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams through complex regulatory and technical landscapes.
Essential Experience

  • 15+ years in renewable energy generation projects (wind, solar, BESS, hydro)
  • Proven leadership of cross-functional teams and generator commissioning
  • Strong knowledge of NEM connection processes, system strength, and regulatory frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience with infrastructure contracts and commercial negotiations
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience in major greenfield infrastructure and REZ projects
  • Familiarity with Transgrid, AEMO, and NSW energy policy
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
