The Role

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Finance Director to join the executive team and lead the financial function through the next phase of growth. This role offers a rare blend of strategic influence and operational control, ideal for a hands-on finance leader who thrives in a dynamic SME environment.

Reporting to the CEO, the Finance Director will be a key business partner, contributing to high-level planning while ensuring financial rigour, compliance, and efficiency across all aspects of the business.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute financial strategies to support short- and long-term growth
• Lead all aspects of financial management including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and reporting
• Provide strategic insights and commercial support to the CEO and leadership team
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory financial requirements
• Implement and enhance financial systems, reporting tools, and internal controls
• Drive performance improvement initiatives across finance and operations
• Oversee risk management, audit, and governance frameworks
• Manage and mentor a small but capable finance team
• Support business cases for capital investment, product development, and market expansion
• Prepare financial reports and dashboards for the Board and executive stakeholders

Your Skills & Experience

• CA/CPA qualified with 8-12 years' experience, including senior finance roles
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or product-based environments
• Comfortable in a fast-paced SME setting-hands-on, adaptable, and commercially focused
• Strong strategic thinking and business partnering skills
• Demonstrated success in process improvement and financial transformation
